Mean

The sum of all numbers in a series divided by the count of all numbers in the series

μ = \frac{\sum x}{n}

When there are frequencies associated with individual values (ie multiples of the same value), there's another method of calculation, where $f$ is frequency

μ = \frac{\sum f x}{\sum f}

The mean can be affected by outliers, so data cleaning is required before the mean is calculated in order to prevent skewed data
